Competitive Pathway

The Junior Academy is a small, focused training group designed for players who are serious about improving and competing in tennis. Many participants currently play—or aspire to play—on their school teams and are committed to developing the skills needed to compete at a high level. The program provides an intensive environment for motivated players who want to continue progressing toward the full Academy program.

Commitment to tournament tennis

Junior Academy is for players who are ready to train with purpose and compete regularly. This is the stage where players shift from “I like tennis” to “I am a competitive player.”

Overview

The ATA Junior Academy program is for players who are committed to competing in tennis. Junior Academy students are expected to play monthly L4, L5, L6 or L7 tournaments, Junior Circuit tournaments, as well as compete in Junior Team Tennis. Players/parents should coordinate with their primary coach to determine appropriate level of tournaments to compete in each month. 

Players train Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00–5:30 PM (with Speed, Strength & Agility training from 5:00–5:30 PM) and Fridays from 4:00–6:00 PM.
