A great shot can change a point. The right opportunity can change a young person’s future.

The Austin Tennis Academy community comes together each year for the Austin Athletics Scholarship Foundation (AASF) Shootout. Now in its 26th year, the event brings players, families and supporters together to help student-athletes pursue opportunities in tennis, academics and beyond. With the support of donors, AASF has awarded more than $2.2 million to deserving student-athletes over the past 25 years.

Two days to come together

The Shootout begins Friday, October 30, with the Player Party at the Sonesta Hotel in Bee Cave. Guests can enjoy a cocktail hour, silent auction and dinner before the live and team auctions.

On Saturday, October 31, the action moves to the courts at Austin Tennis Academy for a Calcutta-style team tournament. Breakfast begins at 7:45 a.m., warm-up starts at 8:00 a.m. and matches get underway at 9:00 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m.

Why we play

Jack Newman and others who founded Austin Tennis Academy created AASF because they saw talented young people whose opportunities were limited by cost. The foundation helps student-athletes with needs related to training, travel and academics. The Shootout is its primary fundraising event, and every player, guest, donor and sponsor helps carry that mission forward.
